All You Need to Know about Spanner Tool and Its Uses

Spanners or wrenches are commonly used in industries. Spanners come in different types. You can choose a specific type of spanner tool that matches your requirements. In today’s blog, we’ll discuss the uses of a spanner and different types of spanners. Let’s get started:

What is a spanner tool used for?

A spanner is used to grip, tighten, and loosen the fastener, such as nuts and bolts. Spanners have one opening end that is used to hold a nut or bolt. Spanners can be used in various places. These tools come in different shapes to match the requirements. Spanners allow you to turn or rotate the fastener without causing any damage to it.

spanner set is useful because it can reach those areas where regular pliers and wrenches can’t reach. If you need to tighten or loosen the bolts or nuts, then spanners can make your job easy. If you tighten or loosen the fastener by your hand rather than by spanner, then you can harm yourself. Different types of spanners can be used to unscrew an old pipe as well. A spanner gives you the grip you need to get the job done.

What do You Need to Consider When Buying a Spanner Set?

When you buy a spanner, then you have to consider a few points to make a perfect deal, such as:

·      Length

Length matters the most when choosing spanner tools. For instance, if you are dealing with a narrow space, then you need to consider the length of the spanner. A long spanner will allow you to reach a narrow space to get the job done easily. Suppose you want to turn a tight pipe in a narrow space, then you should choose a long spanner.

Material

While choosing a spanner, make sure to look at the material used to make a spanner. Ensure to check different parts of a spanner to know whether it is cracked from somewhere or absolutely in a good condition. If the manufacturer of spanners has used quality material, then you can be sure that it will long last.

·        Jaw Width

The next thing you need to consider is to check the width of the jaw. Spanners with wide jaw will ensure that they will better work with larger nuts and bolts. However, wider jaws will not be appropriate for small pipes. Spanner manufacturer will make spanners of different sizes and shapes, and you can choose that match your requirements.

What are different Types of Spanners Available in the Market?

There are various types of spanners available in the market, such as:

·        Open End Spanner

An open-end spanner is also known as a single-end spanner. As the name implies, its open end is used to hold the nuts or grips nuts or bolts to tighten or loosen them. The selection of the spanner will depend on the size of nuts and bolts.

                                                                                                                  Open End Spanner

Double Ended Spanner

In the double end spanner, as the name suggests both ends are opened to tighten or loosen the nuts or bolts. You can use it horizontally or vertically to get the job done more conveniently.

Double Ended Spanner

·        Ring Spanner

Ring spanners give more control over the nuts as they don’t slip and do their job more efficiently. It easily grips the six-sided bolts and nuts. You can position its handle flexibly when adjusting the spanner head over the bolt or nut. Some ring spanners have offset handles, which reduce rubbing knuckles risk when you tight nuts on the plane surfaces.

                                                  Ring Spanner

·

    Combination Spanner

The combination spanner is the combination of ring and open-end spanner. The size of the head of the combination spanner on both ends will be the same. A combination spanner is good for automotive use.

                                              Combination Spanner

           Stubby Spanner

A stubby spanner is a smaller version of a combination spanner that can be fitted easily in a narrow space.

                                                                          Stubby Spanner

·        Adjustable Spanner

If you want to buy one spanner that matches the different sizes of nuts and bolts, then buying an adjustable spanner would be the best option. An adjustable spanner needs extra care when you use it. When you use this spanner, you need to pull the spanner handle towards you rather than push it. Additionally, you can adjust the spanner size by adjusting the screw to clamp the spanner jaws tightly around the nuts. Adjustable spanners are best used in plumbing.

                                                                                                           Adjustable Spanner

·        Ratchet Spanner

It is used to tighten or loosen the nut, and you need to pull the handle in one direction or move the handle back and forth. In addition to this, you don’t need to reposition it every time you turn the nuts.

·      Socket Spanner Set

You can use a socket spanner to quickly tighten or loosen nuts and bolts without replacing them on daily basis. Its one end is round and forms square holes. Inside the square hole, the Tommy bar is fixed that also has a square shape.

Final Thoughts

You can choose a spanner that matches your requirements. Apart from the above-mentioned hand tools spanner, there are various types of spanners available in the market. Before you buy any spanner tool, make sure to check it properly. Maintenance of spanners is also required to keep them working in a long run.

Grease Bucket Pump Uses

Grease Bucket Pump Uses and Things to Consider before Using It

Among various lubricating equipment, a grease bucket pump is commonly used. Bucket grease pump is designed to grease tools that need lubrication regularly. It can be used in various fields from agricultural equipment to industrial tools. These grease pumps can be used by setting a high volume at high pressure. On high volume setting, the pump will deliver grease to make a smooth functioning of the machine. Before getting into detail, you must know what lubrication means and why is it important. Let’s get started:

What is Lubrication and Why Should You Use Grease Bucket Pump?

Bucket grease pump is the common category of lubrication equipment. Well, lubrication is used to reduce friction and allow machines to work smoothly and efficiently. The machine needs timely lubrication to work properly that’s why the lubrication process is important. Lubrication allows machine parts to slide smoothly and it also avoids metal-to-metal contact and keeps your machines running smoothly.

Primary Functions of Lubrication Equipment:

     ·  Reduce friction by developing a film between two surfaces

     ·  Prevent machine wear

     ·  Corrosion protection

     ·  Sealing

     ·  Transport contamination particles to filter for cleaning

     ·  Disperse heat from surfaces for cooling

Before purchasing any lubricating equipment, make sure to choose the best and reliable lubricant equipment manufacturer. Ensure to choose the right type and high-quality lubricating equipment.

Grease bucket pump is well-known and highly demanded lubricating equipment. Many manufacturers offer portable and hand-operated grease pumps. The grease pump has an openable cover and is easy to remove the handle. You can have different sizes of grease pumps for various applications.

·  If after 20 strokes, grease doesn’t come out, then shake the pump and start operating it again.

·  Connect the grease coupler with the grease fitting to lubricate the area that needs lubrication.

·  Keep operating it until grease is released from the coupler.

·  You can detach the grease coupler from the grease fitting, once greasing is done.

Under and Over Lubrication can be Harmful

Everyone knows what can be the result of under-lubrication: premature failure, increased parts wear, increased maintenance cost, and higher energy usage. On the other hand, over lubrication can also be harmful as it can put pressure on lube points, maximize downtime, and excess heat build-up. The solution to this problem is moderate or optimal lubrication.

Safety Precautions When Using Grease Bucket Pump

While using grease pumps, make sure to prevent yourself from harm. Have a quick look at the following section to know what safety precautions you should consider while using a grease pump:

·        The discharging nozzle should not be used towards yourself or anyone because it can harm your skin or eyes.

What are the basic woodworking tools?

There is a long list of tools for woodworking. There is practically a tool for almost every task. To do any carpentry work, whether professionally or at home, it is essential to have the correct carpenter tools to do the job accurately and efficiently.

These must-have tools can be grouped into two categories: hand woodworking tools  (those that require manual action and our own strength), and power woodworking tools.

Hand carpentry tools

Carpenter's pencil

You will need a pencil to mark where to cut, where to nail, draw yourself a sketch ... don't forget!

Tape measure or tape measure

In any woodworking project, measurement is a very important step, since any variation will affect the final result. It is essential to have a precision tape measure and measure thoroughly. Taking the correct measurements is key to a perfect carpentry job.

Square and bevel protractor

A square will help you draw angles and check the degrees of the edges. The best squares for carpenters are the metal squares.

Level

To carry out carpentry projects it is also important to work with a good spirit level to verify the horizontality and verticality of the pieces of wood.

Chisel

Steel chisels are tools used by all carpenters, as they allow carving or cutting wood with clean cuts. They are a precise hammer blow drill and are used for carving wood, cleaning joints, or saw cuts.

Find a chisel that fits the size of your hand to make it more comfortable to handle. You will also need to keep it sharp and greased to keep it longer. We recommend chisels with a wooden handle covered with metal, for better resistance to hammering.

Hammer

This tool is vital as it is used for many tasks, such as nailing, striking, and adjusting. Choose a hammer that is powerful and light enough to be able to work without physically wearing you down.

Hand saw

Despite the existence of electric saws, in carpentry, the hand saw is still essential for working with wood, as it allows control of the cut. Both types of saw complement each other, so it would be advisable to have one of each. There are projects that require the patience and precision of a hand saw and others that require the cleanliness of the cut of an electric saw.

Files / Sandpaper

Files, as well as sandpaper, are tools in charge of removing impurities to give a final finish to the piece of wood.

Sergeants

Clamps are essential tools to hold pieces of wood so you can cut or file comfortably. There are sergeants of various sizes and you will have to adapt them to your project.

Workbench

A bench or work table is very useful to be able to support the piece of wood while you work. It will be easier for you to cut, drill, assemble, and sand. Some woodworking workbenches come with clamps so you can adjust the piece of wood.

Chisel

Chisels are used to make holes in wood and are similar to a corkscrew. Most people use power drills, but in the case of no power, a chisel will help you get out of the way. Also, thanks to the ability to control the force manually, they are very useful for precise and delicate work.

Rasps

Rasps are the tools used to scrape and smooth wood. They are used to remove the remains of sawdust.

Electric woodworking tools:

Obviously, although carpentry is a very artisan work, today there are power tools for wood that will make your life much easier.

Sander

Electric sanders are other essential tools for a carpenter. You will be able to smooth the surfaces and improve the final result of the wood that is being worked. They are also key for restoration projects to prepare a varnished surface.

Circular saw

The circular saw is a very versatile woodworking tool and has different cutting discs with more or fewer teeth. The cutting disc you use will depend on the type of work you are going to do.

Nail gun

If you want to be able to drive nails quickly and efficiently, a nail gun will save you a lot of time. If you are going to give it intensive and professional work, you will need a powerful nail gun.

Drill

The drill needs no introduction. It is an electrical carpentry tool that you must have at home, whether for large DIY projects or to hang a picture. You can drill the wood with different types of drill bits and diameters. Corded power drills are often more powerful and cheaper than cordless drills.

Having a series of manual tools at home to carry out different basic tasks is very useful.
First of all, there will always be some everyday tasks that we can easily do with the help of hand tools.

So, perform simple tasks such as putting nails to hang your favorite painting, cutting a small wood or drilling the wall to insert the curtain rails, etc. These are tasks that, with proper training, we can do without problems.

For this reason, it is not necessary to spend money hiring people to perform these functions, since many of those tasks can be done quickly and effortlessly from the comfort of home.

What are the basic hand tools for the home?

In this the post, we are going to mention which are the basic tools that should not be missing at home and that is easy to use:

 HAMMER

If there was a ranking of the most popular tools, the hammer would certainly take first place.
There are many types of hammers on the market, but the most widely used for home use is undoubtedly the wood-handled carpenter's hammer .
Said hammer is T-shaped, with one end carved with two nails facing down. The straight part is used to hit or hammer and the curved part is used to extract nails. Other types of hammers are rubber, ball and nylon, upholsterer, etc.

How many types of hand tools are there

 What are the tools?

How many types of hand tools are there

Tools are objects or instruments that are created with the purpose of facilitating the tasks that we carry out on a daily basis, be it tightening a screw, a nut, cutting cables, cutting wood, or metal, among many other things.

Types of hand tools

Because these instruments facilitate daily tasks, there is a great variety and different types, Each tool can be classified either by manual, semi-automatic or automatic use, by its operation and construction, electrical, mechanical or electromechanical, or by its use, measuring, cutting, clamping, hitting, etc.

Typically creating a hand tools list covers a wide range of functional and work accessories. Personally, I think that the work tools are infinite due to their functions and importance of each one. In short, creating a list of basic, manual and/or advanced hand tools can literally take a lifetime. Since as I said it is infinite.
Below you will see a list and types of hand tools with their names , function, category and importance. And also a brief description of each working tool. But this is not a definitive list. If you want to create your own list of tools or hand accessories, you must create it yourself. Depending on which artifact is most useful to you. Choose which ones are most relevant and what you will need them for. This guide does not have a relevant order.

Manual tools

These tools are those where the operator has to carry out the work manually, such as a saw is used to cut a piece of wood and the person has to apply his own force and repetitive movements to one side and to the other to split the wood and finish the job.

Semi-automatic tools

Within this category we can find tools in which a repetitive movement is performed by a mechanism with the help of electricity for example: to cut a piece of wood there is an instrument that prevents the operator from making the repetitive movement of moving to one side and towards the other, the only thing that has to be done is to guide this tool and the extra thing is done alone.

Automatic tools

All the elements in this category could be considered as machine tools since they are more complex instruments where we can find an infinity of mechanisms and they all move with the help of electricity. These tools do the job automatically without the need for any operator, for example: To cut a piece of wood we could use a CNC in which once it is programmed we can cut the infinity of pieces automatically without the intervention of no operator. (We will deal with these machine tools in another article due to their great variety).

List of Hand Tools. Ready to do any kind of DIY job
